Avoiding Corn

Corn has obvious sources such as corn-on-the-cob and sweetcorn but it also known as maize and not wheat. So cornflakes, popcorn, corn flour etc. should not be eaten.

Corn can also be found in cooking oil and is listed on food labels as dextrimaltose, dextrin, dextrose, fructose, glucose, glucose syrup, glucose tablets, cereal starch, edible starch, modified starch, starch, vegetable oil, sweetening and syrup. Corn is often used in corned beef, instant coffees, a cereal base for beer and lager and in the glue on envelopes and stamps.

Alternatives to Corn

- Wheat, rice, buckwheat, rye, barley, millet and their derived products.
