The foods most commonly eaten and those most liked are typically the ones causing a food allergy. If there is a food you think you could not possibly give up then suspect this food as the cause of your symptoms first!

- Wheat, corn, oats and rye
- Milk and other dairy produce, especially cow's milk
- Eggs
- Chicken, pork
- Soya

- Yeast
- Citrus fruit; oranges, lemons
- Potatoes, tomatoes, onions, garlic
- Tea, coffee, alcohol
- Chocolate
- Peanuts
- Shellfish
- "E" numbers (food additives such as colourants, flavourings and preservatives)
A description and breakdown of some of the more common foods that cause a food allergy are provided below.
